Being fit both physically and mentally is important to having a good race. This is why many trainers recommend that one runs a few shorter courses before the day. This will keep you physically fit and also give you mental fitness. If you cannot find a race to enroll in you can run as a group of friends.

Knowing he landscape that you are going to race on is also crucial. You can train better since you will train for that landscape so on that day it will be a piece of cake. If the place has a hilly landscape you can run up and down stairs. If it is fairly flat surface the better but do not let it fool you into thinking it is easier.
